You're saying HK people discrimate Indians, Thais, and other races with good reason? For what reasons?? Please elaborate?
I've lived in Vancouver for 14 years and I was never once discriminated in any way. Nor did anyone use racial comments against me. In my opinion, I think racism happens the LEAST in Canada in comparison to other areas in the world. Contrary to other countries, Racism is also labeled as a very serious act in Canada. Of course there will always be bad apples out there so news you have posted here in loyaukee do pop up once in a while. But a nation is made up of human beings and human beings are prone to make errors. You can't expect that racism will not happen at all. Racism happened doesn't automatically mean racism is still a serious problem in this country. All of those head tax things you said are things of the past! Move on! They APOLOGIZED! What else do you want?? Can we not vote??? Do we have to pay head tax?? NO! We, as Chinese Canadians, are respected and granted the same freedom as any other individual in Canada. Why are you so mad?
And as to your note about discrimination in HK is justified. I think you might have lived outside of Hong Kong for too long. I don't blame you. People that misses HK and have not truly lived in it for a long period of time for a while would look at it as a perfect glamourous city. Reality check- it is not.. I've moved back and I would say racism is more of a problem here than in Canada. And sorry for bursting your bubble.. discrimination here is NOT justified.
Discrimination is discrimination. Racism is racism. There's no such thing as justified discrimination or justified racism.
