maybe tell Caveman that one of the reasons that you love him is because he's a strong man. but on the other hand, you want to be there for him to share his sorrows... & encourage him to open up to you instead of keeping it to himself. its ok that he puts up a face in front of people. but in front of you, there's nothing to hide right? also remind him that he needs to take good care of himself, or else how can he take care of you right?! & the sad truth is, eventually our parents & elders will have to leave us one day... so he needs to be strong.
