Wedding Photography - White Day

I am wondering if anyone used White Day for pre-wedding or wedding photography before? How do you like their pictures/service?

Also, how much did you pay? The price they quoted me for 14 hour wedding day package (not including pre-wedding) is more than $5K including album, make up, and wedding gown etc., but someone in another LYK thread said it only costs $1,500 for 14 hours with two photographer.  I wonder why the difference is so big.

I was planning to purchase their pre-wedding + wedding package, cuz it will be much cheaper than going to TW + having another photographer for the wedding day (e.g. Hee Creations, Sakura etc).  I do like Hee Creation's style, but White Day seems not bad given the package price.

As many of you girls mentioned, getting married is really costly and I try to manage my budget to a reasonable range without sacrificing much quality.

Any advise would be appreciated! Thank you so much!

Thanks so much fibbi and raima!

Yes, I thought the $1,500 only include photographers too, but it seems a big premium for the album, wedding gown, make up etc.  Anyway, I will ask more about it and make sure it includes 2 photographers!

Thanks everyone for your advise.  Yes, I agree with all of you.

I checked out White Day's album already. My friend is using them in July for their wedding day photos.  I like their album/style - very sweet and warm.  Hee is more "capturing the moment" as KittyLeung74 suggested.  Of course I need to choose something I like. Not that I am treating this as 買菜, but I guess the question is whether I am willing to pay the premium for a 90% vs 100% satisfaction.  Don't know if it makes sense.  To all girls, do you really prefer a perfect wedding and everything to be the best???  Or are you willing to make some compromise for budgeting or other issues?  I really don't know.  I guess it doesn't really matter if your parents will pay the bills for you.  But for people who pay for the wedding themselves, what are your thoughts?  I am just curious.....

Also, I like the fact that White Day provides other services like wedding gown, tuxedo, make up etc so I don't need to search around.  But I guess after I check out more places (like Hee and others), I may change my mind

khaki, Yes, my friend tried out a few wedding gowns and it looked fabulous on her.  I think they do alterations but not 100% sure.  My friend was pretty short (5") but it seems OK on her.

Again, thanks everyone for your input and good wishes!

Well, I think it is impossible to find a $1,500 nowadays in Vancouver, if quality is a factor.  That's why I was very curious when tequila mentioned $1,500 for White Day.  The package I was thinking at White Day was actually $7K including pre-wedding + wedding pictures.  I think it is very reasonable with album, wedding gown and stuff.

If I do it separately, it will cost about $10K, without wedding gown (e.g. White Day for pre-wedding + independent photographer for wedding).  Actually, other than Hee, I am thinking about

This photographer is located in Seattle when I live in right now.  I absolutely like his style. My friend took engagement pictures with him and they look soooooo nice.  But the only thing is you know for western style engagement photos, most people wear causally, but my fiance and I like the TW style with full make up and a few wedding/evening dress etc.

But in this case, we will have to spend $10K at least on the photos alone, and we both really think it is excessive.

Yeah. I am from Van and my family is still here, but I moved down to Seattle in 2008.  So, with White Day, I don't need to come back every weekend to choose my wedding gown and stuff

I will have the wedding in Vancouver and probably another small one in Toronto since my fiance is from there.

Thanks, 小叻. If I decided to go to Sophia to take pre-wedding pictures, I will go to Sophia too. There are a lot of positive comments in Verywed.

bubu127, my friend took it at 青樺, another very famous wedding company in Taipei.  They looked absolutely fabulous in the pictures, like models.

Another reason I am backing off from taking pictures in TW is that my finance doesn't speak mandarin at all, and I think I can speak or understand 60%, so I think communication will be a problem for us hehehe   Another major reason we wanted to take pre-wedding pictures in Vancouver.

Btw, at 青樺, the make up and hair stylist was excellent.  My friend had long hair and she wanted to make a short-hair sytel (kinda a Kay Tse) so the hair stylist made it for her. She had like 4-5 dresses/style too.

I got a quote from both Sophia and 青樺 (I called their HK office). Bubu127, if you want, you can PM me.
