this article is targeting McDonld's to attack?

Soft drink has a 1200% markup?  Really?  So for a $1.8 drink, the cost is only $0.15?  I don't think so, the paper cup, lid, straw, labor, rent, electricity, etc got to be more than 0.15.

markup is strictly based on raw materials

labor, rent and utilities are expenses

I'm sorry but you're wrong!

Wiki:
"Markup is the difference between the cost of a good or service and its selling price.[1] A markup is added on to the total cost incurred by the producer of a good or service in order to create a profit. The total cost reflects the total amount of both fixed and variable expenses to produce and distribute a product."
