I'm the opposite...I think an AC is well worth the price!

Buy one that's at least over 10000 BTU and "bucket free", which means you don't need to discard the water yourself, the water vapor comes out in the exhaust.  Get one that has full feature timer, humidifying function, fan, etc.

I have a Sharp and it has the air purifier too so it's a 2-in-1, not bad.

Can you tell me how much you paid???  Sharp? Did you get it in the US?

I bought it from US, but they have it in here too, slightly different model.  I bought it a last summer and I think it was around 450US.

Btw, my Sharp AC was advertised as library quiet, only 28db?
