Well .. even most people say they are ugly .. and just Sony ..  

Howeber, I dont mind, I think it is a good marketing plan from Sony, they know who will buy sony, and Sony doesn't want to direct complete with the big C and big N ..  they rather take some clients from Oly, Pana, Samsung, Pantex etc ..  

Quite nice and simple design, a bit "LEICA" look ..  but the display is pure DUMB .. however, it is for typical Sony audience ..  even just "New bottle Old Wine" ... but these new DSLR should sell a lots!  Especially for the people who are looking at 450D/D60 etc ...  at least, these 3 Sony ..  look cool! ^_^

Buying SLR ..  not mean you need to learn 基本既使用 or 曝光 ...

Using small DC not mean u dont know 基本既使用 and 曝光 nowadays la..

even back to 20 or 30 yr ago ..  people with DSLR ...  not always know all the control gei ..

However, for Sony, Olympus, Panasonic  ..  their target buyer is NEWBIE ..  who has NO photography background ...  

Of course, same as Low end model from Canon or Nikon, such as 1000D, D5000 ....

Of course not all la..  just their primary target buyer ar ...

Just like civic or Sunfire etc ..  are target for new/young driver, however, not all civic are driven by new/young driver, many old cake and c 9 drive civic too!
I have Oly and Sony DSLR tooo .. both Oly and Sony offer higher model DSLR as well, such as their E series and A900, but their marketing plan is more target to first time SLR buyer ar ma ..

Of course, the E-P1 is another story ...

Seems like whatever brand .. their low end/entry camera .. are getting lower and lower price ..  ( Oly E520, E430, EXXX ..  Sony A300 .. A350 .. A330 etc ..  Nikon D60 ..  Canon 1000D )

However, upper class/higher end body, such as D3/1DIII, 5DII, even D700 etc ..  either price increase, or at least no drop ...

2 yr ago ..  1DIII was $4399 ..  now .. $5199 ..  D3 .. was $4899 .. now.. $5699 ...

5DII is more crazy, announced for $2699 .. then $3099 .. then $3299 ..

D700 ..  was $3299 ..  then $2999 .. now back to $3249 ...  ( Still best overall value/performance DSLR  IMO ^_^ )

Yes yes ..  I am (was) very happy with A300 ..  small, light, simple, IS, live view, tilt LCD, good range kit lens ... and cheap .. very cheap ..

But .. since IT IS A SONY ..  my wife doesn't like it ma ...  I found jpeg from the A300 is even nicer then some Canon and Nikon ..

Tokina 11-16mm is the best choice .. I believe they just release Sony mount .. ^_^

Sorry .. I think Tokina just offer Nikon and Canon mount ..

You can also look at sigma 10-20mm or  Tamron 10-24mm

They both not the top notch super wide angle, but they are not bad.

Yeah .. for price price point/performance .. both sigma 10-20 and tamron 10-24 are good ..  

For around~ $600
