depends on what grade ..

In general .. CA  make app. same money as doctor here ..  of course, depends on experience .. and field.

If in HK..  then people will consider accountants as HIGHER grade professional ..  as they make more money then doctor/lawyer etc ..  ( of course Plastic doctor, or surgery/cancer specialist in private hospital make good $$ too )

Not sure about here ... but yes, there are different titles for accountant in HK

I wanted to be an accountant too .. but I was too lazy ...

The fact is, many "rich" people I know, are accountant background.

hmm... I just think that accounting people like to drive lexus... probably b/c of less depreciation? haha...

Not here ...  most of my accountant friends .. prefer BMW ..  they like the "young professional style" over "old chinese c9" style .. LOL
Somehow ..  doctor here, like driving Lexus .. (Doctor I know ..  including my doctor, dentist etc... )

Since doctors and everyone else are paid low in Canada, CA is a pretty good choice.

May be different in US ..  but in general .. I won't say DOCTOR in Canada are low pay ..  ( well, unless $200K+ is considered low pay )On the other hand, only SOME accountants in Canada make big money, but in general, ~ $50+/hr for a CA is still better then MOST ..
