我都廢鬼事逐樣駁你。車同人一樣，唔係邊間出廠同邊個人種就大Q晒，維修保養一樣咁重要，而且車齡越大，maintenance 做得勤唔勤、足唔足就相對地變得越來越重要。如果係親 Toyota 就無問題嘅話，咁 Toyota 廠啲大偈就個個唔使開飯，樓主架車一開始亦唔會出事啦～

last time my engine light on becoz its the catalytic converter melt down (can see through from 1 end 2 the other end) screwed up 1 of the sensor

咁我又請問你憑乜野咁肯定呢？就因為你又唔係 mechanic，又唔係 automotive engineer，定係因為你連呢句「check engine light只係for環保purpose」都講得出口？

汽車維修呢啲野，怪起上來有時連 certified mechanic 都唔搵唔到原因啦。但係我哋阿 Soli哥就唔同，一句「一開始就唔係個engine 有事」就搞掂～

OBD 一向都係因為環保而設﹐CEL著左如果只係D sensor壞﹐唔整架車都繼續可以行得走得不過晒D油/馬力少D +過唔到air care. 叫你睇link又唔睇

But on the bill first one says "Oxygen sensor heater circuit" the one a few months later says "Oxygen sensor"...

i also fink this is just symptoms of bigger problems behind.

me managed to tilt it by about 70 degree to the right before

yes, almost flipped side ways.
and it was running alright the next day!

but that winter, car started to have lots of problems
and the 西裝油told me to replace engine, takes about $4000up.
He said there is gasoline shooting back at my engine, but didn't explain why.. didn't quite trust him.
we decided to listen to more opinion and so brought car to current mechanic..
and this mechanic said car is alite.. just 晒D油...

like hailrabitspace said, car is always running when CEL is on! LOL
but velly faan law.. and $$$$$$$
every few months start to stall gum law.

This time car is still running quite smoothly, just making weird noises once in a while..

IF there is another mechanic that tells me there really IS gasoline shooting back at my engine, i might really just change the engine this time! ><

呵呵呵～ 你要死口唔認嘅話，我都無謂同你調低能仔坳落去。但如果 OBD 只係如你話齋係用來搞環保野嘅話，咁點解叫做 on-board diagnostics，而唔係叫做 environmental friendly / green engine management 之類嘅野呢？以 Soli兄嘅「高見」，唔知 diagnostics 係咪解環保呢？

你係咁勁、咁能有料嘅話，又唔見你去幫樓主師兄 DIY 整好架車？

IMO, if you really to have the engine replaced, I'd much rather just trade the car in for something else. At most, your car is worth $10k to trade in, and $4k is just too big a chunk of money for repairs on a $10k car.

講返主題﹐
個mechanic 話會晒D油﹐“我諗”有可能其中一個code 話 system too rich﹐即係入油同入空氣落個engine比重唔o岩﹐俾油太多﹐所以晒油兼唔環保(所以CEL著)。其原因可能係入氣太少﹐相對地就變成俾油太多落engine。又可能係oxygen sensor 壞左或者污糟左sense 唔到出氣oxygen﹐唔係個system too rich。仲有好多可能﹐不過邊個係真要車房佬自己先知﹐樓主如果要試可以慢慢繼續。

不過車房佬講野﹐too lean 都可以話too rich﹐屈人換野﹐所以唔知個code 講乜都無用。
