So you are saying you don’t want to be a Chinese, but it is an unfortunate thing that it is not your choice? I feel pity for you.
When you have a child, do you expect him turn an adult overnight? There is much for him to explore and to learn as he grows. Will you 嫌棄him because he is not as handsome or smart as other children?
No matter how immature and imperfect China is, we will NOT be ashamed of our Chinese root. We believe China will grow and improve as a child. We do our small part to make a contribution even though it might look insignificant instead of 怨天尤人.
I will teach my children (if I have one) to be proud of being a Chinese and make a contribution in their ability. Even though it is possible that I might not be able to see China because a truly democratic country in my life, I hope my children will. |
