On your coming Rogers invoices which you may not always read will have the following:
Effective July 7 2009, SMS fees while roaming will increase from $0.60 to $0.75.
IMPORTANT: A NEW CHARGE FOR RECEIVED TEXT MESSAGES
Effective July 7, 2009, unless you subscribe to a plan, bundle or pack that includes text messaging, you will be charged for all non-premium received text messages at a pay-per-use rate of $0.15 each (plus applicable taxes). Rogers allows customers to send and receive the longest text messages - 160 characters compared with 140 at other Canadian carriers. All other aspects of your service remain the same.
Save up to 61% and enjoy UNLIMITED received text messages when you subscribe to a text messaging plan, messaging bundle or Value Pack. If you already have one, you will continue to receive texts at no charge making your subscription even more valuable.
NOTE: For protection against unwanted spam text messages, send us a text message with the 10-digit wireless number of the spam message to 7726 (SPAM). We will credit your account $0.15 for each reported SPAM message and it’s free to report SPAM.

Did you know that you can send a text message from over 200 countries and areas around the world? The rate for sending a text message while traveling outside of Canada will increase to $0.75 per text message plus applicable taxes, effective July 7, 2009. All other aspects of your service remain the same.
