兔兔生腳瘡 兔兔

琴日發現腳踭位有少少紅,今日變大約,大約有0.5cmx0.5cm
由於星期日,Richmond搵唔到醫生,結果去o左W4th Ave 夾Fir 果街Vancouver Animals Emergency Clinic
出發前已經問o左佢會睇兔仔,basic examination fee $200
不過心諗兔仔快d無事o既話就無所謂...
去到唔係好洗等,護士檢查完畢,話唔收我診金,醫生o係電話度話只要唔比佢行本地硬o既話傷口好快會好,無藥食,叫我呢幾日留意o下佢就ok

你o地d 兔兔有無生過腳瘡呀?
我好擔心...
同埋Richmond 有無其他Clinic 睇兔仔?
我唔想上到去咁遠...

you're sure it's 腳瘡..? and not a cut..??
is your bunny licking on it a lot??
as far as i know.. no vets in the vaec are capable of treating rabbits =\
you shouldn't be too worried la. as long as your bunny is still acting and eating normally. it'll heal eventually
try to keep his living area clean~ especially the litter box so the pee/poop won't irritate his foot. and watch for sharp areas (like edges of the cage/ little box etc..) cover those areas with towels~~
as for the wound... use polysporin~ or any antibiotic ointment..~ just use the regular one, not the extra strength. but as little on it as possible cuz you know the bunny'll lick it off... but a little is fine.. we've used it on our hamsters and bunny and all the wounds have healed

and for vets in rmd. i would say NO...
during the last day or so with my bunny i called just about every single vet in richmond cuz like you, i dun want my bunny to suffer from the stress they get from car rides..
and i saw from vrra that there's a new bunny vet in rmd

BUT. when i called and asked a few questions like i did with all the other vets, the girl who i spoke to was NOT FRIENDLY at all... i hope it was just that individual la.

but yeah~ i dun think you should worry too much. bunnies get small cuts on their feet from time to time... as long as their behaviours are normal they should be fine. just keep them really clean..!~

果日d護士同我講,呢d 叫pressure sores...無開藥比我o地...我亦唔會比佢對腳仔掂到水

佢o地send o左個notes 去arbutus/w 16th ave 果間clinic (因為以前住溫哥華,o係果度睇開),其實見佢個紅色位已經細o左,仲生返毛毛,但係為o左安全起見,聽日返工前會帶佢去arbutus/16th 度檢查,放工拎返佢...

我已經成個兔籠清潔o左,同埋o係籠口舖o左毛巾...
其實佢每日95% 時間都o係出面(地毯同埋坐軟綿綿dining chairs),只係食o野飲水同去厠所先返入籠一陣
我都唔係好明佢點解有pressure sores...

my bunny had the same symptom b4. not just 少少紅, 好似無咗小小毛(1cmx1cm).
i remember it took her few months to recover (didnt do anything).

auyatyat, Dr Martinez is the on-call vet i've told you abt in sms..
he used to work in Arbutus west animal clinic (my buns used to go there and see him)... he left a bit over a yr ago and started in own business... there was the option of having him go to your place or you go to his place (granville & 12th i believe). he's really good with buns but he wasnt very on time (last summer i had him come to my place to check on my bun and he was late for over an hr) but skills-wise he's pretty good.  Didnt know he changed the name of his clinic...i guess he's done with going on-call so he got a place?  i saw his yellow vet car when i went to steveston last weekend

oh so u go to arbutus west too...
ever since dr martinez has left i'm going to west boulevard vet to see dr potter instead... she's way more expensive but also way more experienced.

my bunny got more sores on his feet as he got older. but mainly because towards his last year or so he wasn't able to hold his pee so much so a lot of times he'd just pee where he's sitting and he will just step on it... resulting in urine burn at the end. one time for that little patch of flesh with no skin, he got a cut from the wood pellets in his litter box. but that healed pretty quickly. we had to give him a butt/feet wash almost every day to keep him clean... but for the last 2-3 months things got really bad.. he had almost no fur on one of his foot... 心痛=(

如果兔兔的後腳趾甲太長都會引起sore hocks, 因為腳甲太長牠就要就住來行, 久而久之D pressure去晒腳掙度. 不知你兔兔是否這個問題呢?
