Well... like any other campaign, one can just make an effort to petition, no one can guarantee the outcome. Apparently, Infoworld has collected more than 160,000 signatures...
i have installed a stripped down versions of windows vista, ultimate and home editions on 2 harddisk, i did not find them very useful so far
vista have problem using the soundcards and modems i have
vista should never be considered a replacement for xp
today's computers have large hard disks,
so it has the capacity for more than one operating system
all business computers and home computer should run mainly on xp
one may install vista as an additional os
there is no logical reasons for business or home users to purge xp and upgrade to
vista
co use of xp and vista.... yes
purge xp and upgrade to vista ? stupid
if you buy a new computer today,
there is room on your harddisk for your old copy of xp
there is no reason why you should not copy it over, and make it dual bootable
with windows vista.
in fact , there is no reason why you should pay for windows vista on a new pc
you dont need it,
if you want to know if you really need it, download a test copy and test drive it, like i did,
i bought a cheap old 20 gig harddisk,
( you can get one for $15 at freegeekvancouver.org , tested to good , no bad sectors )
and downloaded windows vista ultimate
use vlite to strip off all off vista's highend stuff, such as 3d graphics
and it runs nicely on my pentium III 500 mhz
i tested the activation crack that was circulation on the web when vista freshly came out last year, everything is good, except i see nothing better
than xp.
there is still demand for windows xp,
if microsoft does not want to sell it, the users simply copy it,
i guess 3/4 of all xp running in this connected web of ours are copied

as i say, todays computers at school, at work, at home all have the
capacity for 2 or 3 operating systems .
in the business world the xp system should stay on all computers even
if only 1 % of the workers still prefer it over vista
at home, hey, the harddisk is now so big, let the xp stay until the end of time, you want to add vista, no problem, add linux too
