2004~2007 camry 4cyl engine all based on the same venerable 2AZFE(which is what my wifey's 04 has), so it's 87 octane rating.

Running higher than manual spec'ed doesn't make too  much difference in my case (tried as high as 94before) so I wouldn't pay too much here in Canada (price difference between 91 and 87 is minimal down in the sates).

I'm typically doing 500kms/wk these days (between Rmd and N.Van) and 87 makes good sense to me.

BTW: our calculation here in NA (North America) for octane rating (at the pump) is: RON(research octane number) + MON (motor octane number) divide by 2. Some countries only spec RON for their gas (sold through retail pumps) and there lies the differences.

that's the min i recommend to my friends if dun drive hard lor...but try running 92 if u are driving down to the states / kelowna / whister etc, surrey / langley once in awhile then dun need to change?! but if daily it will be "better" imo...but oh wellz...

I would use at least 89octane on all Japanese 1300cc-2000cc 4 cylinder engine....

And 91/92octane for 2000cc+ 4 cylinders or V6 engines....

I do see quite some people who got rough running, carbon build up, 死氣有臭蛋/硫黃味，o2 sensor failure etc. with their 04-06 model vehicle. They usually run 87 & do short trips all the time OR use non-major(non-Chevron/Esso/Shell/PetroCan) branded fuel.

And I would prefer to go to busy gas stations coz that means they refill their unground tank with fresh stuff more often than the other locations. Which is a good thing using those according to quite a few master technician who work for dealerships.

Btw, never go to a gas station when there's a truck refilling the underground tank because it will stir up all the crap at the bottom of the tank which could end up in your car's tank.

Drive all the way to the gas station .. and if they are refilling ...  won't drive all the way again ga ma ..

One nite, I went to 6 gas stations .. they all close .. ended up ..  I forgot .. there is one really close to my house .... but I dont go there usually .. ( not on my way )
