September may be coming to an end, and with, it the warm weather and lazy long weekends, but Dolce & Gabbana's spring 2016 collection today had everyone in Milan dreaming of summer vacation in Italy. Postcards from Rome and Firenze, Portofino and Palermo, decorated the mood board backstage alongside photographs of Audrey Hepburn and Jayne Mansfield on holiday "in Italia." The results were beautifully embellished sandals, flirty, full-skirted dresses, and a beauty look that was as pretty as it was un-fussy—exactly what you'd when when traveling abroad.

Models came down the runway wearing a variety of intricate headpieces, including crowns, headbands, headscarves, and even headphones. And while these elaborate, bejeweled accessories were anything but low-maintenance, the soft chignons underneath them were as effortless as them come. "It's the idea of just throwing your hair up in a very easy way with a couple of pins," says hairstylist Guido. To achieve the soft, romantic effect, he prepped the hair with Redken Windblown 05 Dry Finishing Spray for volume and texture, tied the hair into a high ponytail, and swirled the ends into a messy chignon. "It's high on the crown so you can see it from the front," he explained. "By having that height up there it really softens the whole silhouette."

The makeup was equally fresh and simple, meaning it's something a non-model could totally pull off on a real-life vacation. Makeup artist Pat McGrath skipped bronzer, instead buffing warm, rosy blush into the apples of the cheeks. She defined the creases of the eyes with a neutral shadow, added a subtle black wing at the outer corners of the eyes, and coated lashes with mascara. As for the lips, McGrath broke out Dolce & Gabbana Dolce Matte Lipstick in summery shades of rosy pink, orange, and peach, and pressed them onto the lips with her finger to create a hazy, stained effect (which means you don't have to worry as much about it getting everywhere or fading). "It's just a really sunny, beautiful, fresh look that's all about the joy of holidaying in Italy," she said. You've got the look down, now all you need is the plane ticket.
