Both at fault.  I'm pretty sure ICBC will put 50-50% fault.  

Honestly, red VW don't have enough room to change lane safely judging from the distance between cars.

BMW is speeding up to close the gap, that will be my instant reaction too.  But the BMW is obviously swing back to the left to push the VW back to his lane which caused the accident.

If I were the VW, why don't just brake and keep it straight.  It seems like that could prevent the crash already.  If not, I would rather hit the BMW rather than the bus.

VW was wrong at first, but that doesn't give the right for the BMW to swing to the left after...!

I think the BMW should be charge for something more serious than normal traffic violation.

Wow ..  VW vs BMW ...

Suppose, that VW shouldn't CUT, when there is no space, however, that BMW should just yield that VW.. even he/she didn't need to, but now, when accident happened, it is a lose lose case.

Why ask opinion from Michael?? he is a race car driver, what he said is correct .. on RACE track.

Race track?    For BTCC, it is a perfect legal move.

Side talk, I actually love how the bus driver being claim, or either he may not even aware of it until it was finished.  The VW just hit and bounced off like hitting a station objection.

It is always count on the one who was trying to change lane.
But from looking at the video, the BMW seems want to "punish" the VW when he saw him driving fast and trying to change lane. Then BMW speed up and don't want the VW to do that.
Or trying to test VW's driving skill LOL.
Too bad, VW failed.
So, I agreed that the one who is trying to create accident need to be punished. So, both VW and BMW are responsible for it.
