如果你地係諗住local 買呔既話，最好compare下costco同你渣果隻牌子既車(例如acura)dealer 賣緊幾多錢，我自己就比較過，costco賣michelin同我以前做果間dealer幾乎一樣價錢，但dealer通常stock唔少比較熱門車款既tire size，唔使下下走去costco。

Where did you hear that from?

Everyone can tell if tires are new just by feeling the tread-depth, especially new tires will have tread lines and hairs on the sides and those will rub off if they are used.

I had one officer came out and felt the depth of my tires once and they checked the tire manufacture date from the side-wall, showing 1.5 years old, they then let me go.

Now might be a bit late to get deals on tires, so check locally. I see that Point Roberts now have line-up in pick-up places already.

General Altimax Arctic was 30% off regular price in CanTire for the last 2 weeks bor.  It was an okay deal from CanTire.  But it is still more expensive than JC Whitney couple weeks ago (you could check redflagdeals thread on General Altimax).

I bought mine from discount tires, for some reason, they didn't charged any tax, got them shipped to Point Roberts, brought all 4 of them back to install (cuz a friend's friend work in autoshop, so labor is cheaper), and declare it to Canada Custom, and they didn't tax me!  Hooray! So lucky!

Yeah, it's always better to declare it and let custom decide to tax or not.

    Yeah, I got them from discount tires direct.  It was really fast, it only took 4 day, and it arrived at Point Roberts.  I was really happy with the 'no sales tax'.  Yeah, I will always declare to CBSA, and let them decide to tax or not tax me.  Don't want to be black listed
