Made in China, Not Sold in America

Korea never blatantly ripped off the designs of other established companies though.

Of course, Grandfather's loyal lap dog -- our dear Peter boy -- is gonna say they were all originally designed and styled by brilliant Chinese designers ga la. And then he's gonna say Volvo is now owned by China's Geely, and that we ought to all buy Volvo because of that. And how every country except China is gonna go bankrupt.

We've heard the same broken record over, and over, and over again.

I heard Japan was king of copying stuff back then too.
Then Taiwan took Japan's position for long time.
Now it's China's turn.

Was it true?

FYI, the Hyundai flagship model Equus available NOW is almost
like a Mercedez Benz S-class replica

Oh, please. Can you be more shameless than that?

Hyundai certainly took/stole a lot of design and styling cues from other manufacturers, but all manufacturers do that to a certain extent. Furthermore, all legitimate manufacturers would at least re-work the lines somehow and add in their own design elements so that their car would only resemble other manufacturers' cars, or at most cause you to think of and the other cars with this one.

But nobody except Chinese manufacturers would blatantly rip off 90 - 100% of other manufacturers' cars and call them their own. Have you even looked at the photos of various Chinese ripoff vehicles?

If you can't tell between blatant plagiarism and styling influence, you're either stupider than our resident moron, or more shameless than he is.

Are you gonna say that since all cars have a hood and 4 wheels, that they are all plagiarized?

When you mix it up intelligently so that people only recognize where the cues are coming from, that is not automotive plagiarism. But when you do what China has done, which is to cheaply copy almost everything the established brands have, then that is automotive plagiarism.

But oh well, I don't expect the idiot that you are to understand these finer points.
