It's like a Civic SI plus more bells and whistles. I should have known from the price...
Likes:
+ suspension, firm but more comfortable then TSX
+ the low end torque that makes u feel like driving a V6, but not as smooth.
+ Deep Engine tone
+ appealing controls layout
+ lots of leg room for the rear
+ bluetooth and voice commands... SD Card slot / ipod connectivity, etc...
Dislikes:
- hard plastic on the door panel
- wiggling buttons
- feel cheap
- non-intuitive control for the moonroof
- DSG doesn't seem to be very smooth when pushed
- steering wheel looks good, but it's just firm rubber, not leather.
- manual seat adjustment
- reliability... the sales just traded in his own VW 'cause of various sensors failures...
The sales there's a ECU upgrade (from VW he claims) that will push HP from 200 to ~260 for ~$1000. Interesting...
Here's their ~$1000 ECU upgrade:

Very interesting. I test drove the GLI before I bought my 2.0T. I didn't think it was powerful after 100 KM/H. I didn't know about this ECU patch.
Warranty voided after mod?
The price is about the same at my 2.0t if it's mod. I don't like the hard plastic in many places on the GLI. For that price, I would expect at least soft plastic.
My 2.0t has better quality interior and 18" wheels. Style is personal preference though.
most VAG has cheap aftermarket horse power since 1.8T generation(stage 1 - more boost with just a chip, then bigger turbo/intercooler), definitely it is not factory option...the sales tried to "kwun" their customer on that...
