dont know how much you can understand bout this cantonese isn't the national language of china for the lack of its vocality and i being a chinese born in HK eventually have 3 languages stuck in my head and they all carry the same significance for me (in an ideal world) but meanwhile i know none of them is mine (theoretically speaking but in practice i am still very cantonese) 講完 搵人頒個獎比我 linguistic＞phonetic＞articulatory phonetics
the best way to find out is to read a number
the first sound which comes in your head is your mother tongue
like when i was in a hurry and when i read 123 i dont go one two three i go yat yi saam (those are my thoughts only audible by me this is what i call 自己諗野)
but when i have to tell a english speaker 123 my mind has to reprocess the number unless i consciously switch my mind from chinese to english BEFORE the encounter and if i had to deal with cantonese mandarin and english speaker all at once intermittently i will have to switch myself back and forth and again
and again so technically and sometimes at the end of the day my mind is a total blank resting right in between the switches the intervals the lines between the different languages or maybe its just one tiny little spot
that particular space has no sound at all maybe some ultra sound most people cannot hear it
