I also just opened a US checking account and it has no admin fees as of now. The account comes with a Visa Debit card that has all the numbers similar to credit cards, so you can use it to buy stuff online. The only thing I worry about though is if they will charge me admin fees if my account balance stay very low for a long time?

philip, Which bank are you with, and are they charging account admin fees?

I was considering opening a USD CC in Canada, but I ended up opening an US Checking account in US that gives me a Visa Debit card, and I can pay bills and shop in USD.

I just transfer funds through P ...
