I saw a man requesting 90 octane vs 94 octane for his car ...

and he was driving a Bentley Continental GTC ...

save 2 cents from 90 to 94 ????

If you only drive in a giant moving parking lot, the lowest octane will do. These engines will auto retard the timng anyways.

Diesel engines were originally designed to run on Peanut oil. www.biodieselnow.com

If u can afford a new Merc u can afford the gas.
In my apt one Ethnic mnorities parked his fairly new ML320, wonder why?
Perhaps tme to pull in the lanterns.

Diesel can run on any vegetable oil. Peanuts, olive.. whatever.. as long as it's used and it's filtered. I wouldn't do it on today's modern diesel but if you've got an older diesel car, just getting used cooking oil and a heater in the fuel tank will get you running... so if you have a friend that owns a McDonalds, grab their used oil, and drive off into the sunset for "free"... and make your exhaust smell of french fries.

The heater just stops the oil from solidifying.

I thought there is more to just filtering? It isn't rocket science, but don't you have to do a bit of simple processing / mixing with other oils / stuff to get the right mixture?

I remember seeing a ...

its just filtering...THAT simple

of course you can add a bit of kerosene based solvent to improve it...but its not necessary

the problem with corn-based ethanol is that you actually need a lot of energy input to process the corn to make ethanol...which is actually not very environmentally friendly...

there is now a breakthrough of making gasoline-like liquid from cellulose...apparently you need little energy input...and of course...gasoline contains more energy than ethanol

I don't believe in ethanol bandwagon that's the rage around the world.. our's are produced from sugar cane and it's a really stupid way to create more expensive food prices to have food being sold off as fuel for the car.

Best way.. find something that doesn't require oil to run the vehicle. Build nuclear power plants and everyone run electric cars... the bury the waste uranium back down a mine shaft...  the day oil runs out is the day we will change every single aspect of how we go about life. Cotton only clothing, no more plastic products, most construction solvents obsolete, no more lubricant for machinery.... then we'd be really stuffed.
