8型號油門或失靈 豐田汽車回收

【明報專訊】加拿大豐田公司(Toyota Canada Inc.)周四宣布﹐大規模回收8種型號的汽車﹐因為它們的油門可能失靈﹐加拿大已有5宗相關報告。

此次召回的豐田汽車﹐包括暢銷的RAV4、Camry、Matrix及Corolla型號。

該公司發表新聞稿說﹕「我們的調查顯示﹐存在一種可能性﹐某些汽車的油門踏板結構﹐在罕見情況下或於半途卡住﹐或返回空轉原位時速度緩慢。」

加拿大豐田對外事務總裁迪費利斯(Sandy Di Felice)說﹐現在還不清楚﹐加拿大有多少車輛受此影響。但因同一原故﹐豐田公司已在美國宣布召回230萬輛汽車。

該公司說﹐這一問題很罕見﹐但當油門踏板結構磨損時﹐有時的確會出現。這時油門會變得「更難踩下﹐返回原位時速度更慢﹐在最壞的情況下﹐於半途卡住。」

迪費利斯說﹐目前加拿大已有5宗發生故障的報告。發現這類問題的司機﹐應穩定、持續的對油門施力﹐避免反覆踩踏油門﹐然後將車開到安全地點﹐並關閉引擎。

豐田發言人漢森(John Hanson)說﹐豐田汽車仍未有解決方法﹐但正致力研究。漢森補充﹐最新召回汽車使用的油門系統﹐都是來自單一供應商﹐但他拒絕說明供應商是誰﹐只說豐田會和它繼續業務往來。

美國豐田公司說﹐此次召回與去年9月回收並不相同﹐當時豐田公司說﹐油門踏板可能被鬆動或安裝錯誤的腳墊卡住。

回收的8型號包括﹕

●2009-2010 RAV4

●2009-2010 Corolla

●2009-2010 Matrix

●2005-2010 Avalon

●2007-2010 Camry

●2010 Highlander

●2007-2010 Tundra

●2008-2010 Sequoia

I still remember the glory day from Toyota in the 80's ... not anymore ...

I had no good feelings about "drive by wire" when it first came out...so I guess my intuition was right...BUT I'm driving with drive-by-wire now....sigh

give me cable throttle back!

I had no good feelings about "drive by wire" when it first came out...so I guess my intuition was right...BUT I'm driving with drive-by-wire now....sigh

好多生產商整出黎既車都有呢一類safety recall 架啦！冇可能話造一部車出黎永遠都係perfect，toyota 同honda 已經算係好少見有大獲野發生。

Of course I understand that.  The thing that I don't like is the concept of drive by wire not the QC.

cable plus TPS is safer and less expensive to fix IMO

No wonder ..

When my wife took our stupid GX for service last week ..  they removed the floormat from the car ...  said "COULD BE" a problem .. but so far, the GX is not on the list ....

toyota webpage said it's only "Voluntary Safety Recall "... seems not a big deal.

But "豐田汽車仍未有解決方法".. then what will they do after recall? remove the mat only?
