potentially 64bit can allow some speed improvements. However, 64Bit is still too new, and many hardware software still can't take full advantage. In fact you may run into lots of incompatibility problems....! So, unless you are running some professional software which can take advantage of 64bit and needed more than 4GB, etc..!
首先多謝各位,如果用32bit,假如(只是假如)expand the ram to 4 GB or more,有無用?有無意思?因為在Staples問過一位sales personel,他說如果用32 bit, it is meaningless to expand the total ram more than 3 GB.他說了些原因,可能我的水平太低,不明白o可否解釋一下?
多謝。
Hi, I have a question needs help. If My computer's mother board only support 2 gb ram, and can I put in 4 gb ram then what will happen? Could it run with 4 gb or it will just operate with 2 gb and the excess 2 gb will be useless? Please help. I just ordered another 4 gb ram from NCIX and find out my mother board only suppert 2 gb. How dump I am.
How much beyond 3GB RAM the system could recognize in a 32bit OS is determine by the motherboard. Newer chipset is able to to auto disable Executing Bits and enable PAE (Physical Address Extension) to allow the OS to recognize more than the physical limit.
If you have 4GB+ or more memory, 64bit OS is definitely a must, otherwise anything over 3.5GB will be useless. Most new package system comes with Vista 64 already due to 4GB of RAM.
So far, Vista 64 has been good, only that some major applications such as Simply Accounting 2008 still refuse to work with it.
