The first invitation to Apple's rumoured iPad 2 event March 2 has surfaced with The Loop confirming its invite arrived Wednesday.
According to The Loop, the event will be held in San Francisco at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, site of previous Apple product announcements.
The arrival of the new iPad has been the subject of much speculation and rumours -- since discounted -- of a delay. Wannabe iPad buyers who were holding out for the second generation of the popular tablet that has sold almost 15 million units since it was launched last year will no doubt be among those lining up for the iPad 2.
Alberta's self-confessed iPhone/iPad junkie Steve Huether is already planning to buy the new version of the iPad, which is expected to come with a number of improvements over the first one, including better resolution and a front-facing camera for FaceTime video support.
" I sold my iPad yesterday in prep for iPad 2. I hope it's March 2!," Huether said in a tweet to me yesterday when news first surfaced of a possible March 2 announcement |
