IMO, I don't think your tire will pop but I still think you should change it.

How about the alignment? If the hit was that bad, it may screw up your suspension and alignment, bring it to the shop to check check for safety la

I suggest you go to Kal Tire and ask them to talk a look at it.

If it needs to be changed, they might have 2nd hand one for sale (cheaper).

I got also got flat tire, (so bad that it couldn't be fixed) and changed to their 2nd hand tire around 1 1/2 years ago.

I recently got a flat tire again (too many construction around), went into Kal tire to fixed it, and turns out they fixed it with no charge.

that kinda damage on sidewall will need new tire, depends on the mileage of your car might need at least 2 or even a set of 4 (2 is for even up tractioon left and right on ur front wheels, or rear wheels; 4 is if the other 2 ain't having too much life left anyways, might as well get ready for winter?)

rim wise it will cost u about $200 to fix...that's a pretty standard curbage repair unless it's some special rim or damage is excessive...

i have seen ppl driving around like that for a long while and i have also seen ppl having the tire blew up during to that kinda puncture, afterall u are the owner / driver of the car and i think 90% of ppl will know it's a FIX it's just a matter if u wanna take the chance for further damage (blew up during a corner can cause ur car spin out and even more damage, have one in my friend's shop RIGHT NOW and i can only tell u, it's totally not worth it!)

sometime sidewall can also be "bubbled" after a slight hit to the curb, those will need new tires too

Sorry for going off topic a little... I think this is a very legit post, I don't know why 大C姐 or Hyde wanna troll on this thread.....

The OP wants to know more information concerning the damage to his/her tire. Not everybody is a tire expert. If the tire does go flat tomorrow, the OP needs to prepare. Maybe he/she doesn't know how to change to spare his/herself, and he/she needs to call a friend, etc to help in advance, instead of arriving at a flat tire tomorrow morning preventing him/her to go to work/skool. Maybe the OP wanna pre-order tire at a tire dealership if he/she know this is a damage that cannot be fixed, etc. Or maybe a damage at that part of the tire doesn't matter? I don't know about if your mom taught u about tires, because neither my mom nor any of my formal education did, and I don't think it is expected that everyone needs to know about tires very well to survive in life.

Even worse is, as SB and MyOMy suggested, there is a danger of blowing the tire if the OP continues to drive with this. The OP needs to be warned and be supplied of these kind of information. What if the tire does not go flat and the OP decides to drive it for the few days the tire needs to be waited to be pre-ordered in? Unless you guys like to see a car with it's wheel and suspension trashed as the tire blow, I don't see what's so wrong about the OP obtaining opinion from other people in order to know what he should or should not do in these situation.

Although I welcome 大C姐 in how he/she have contributed much in adding more traffic to the forum, but he/she also seem to have encouraged the proliferation of a lot more trolling activity on the board.... I am sick of a few people here trolling in serious threads just for the sake of trolling. Please go back to 無人駕駛 if trolls just wanna thread crap.

if you are a girl and too weak to change a tire, i'm pretty sure you can call someone to change it for u.  

and having a flat tire is such a little thing.  i don't know why ppl go all paranoid about it.

but really... I think changing spare tires is pretty basic for a car owner. I have done that in the pouring rain in the dark. So if I can do it, everyone can.
If they can't, they can call a friend or call BCAA.

Get a can of fix flat tire at xxTire or SStore. The glue inside may help you drive to the next tire shop or at least make you feel easier.

use that stuff only when you KNOW your tire isn't repairable, for regular puncture don't use that
