Stiff clutch on a 2005 Camry SE

I'm looking at this used car and the clutch is SO stiff, almost like a racing clutch.  I thought this would be a very abnormal condition for a family car like Camry (even SE).  Other than that the clutch is working fine, no gear grind, no slip, nothing.

Any fellow LYK know anything about this car or common Toyota clutch problems?

Also another question...can a dealership (Regency) sell me a car with tempered odometer?  cuz the car doesn't feel like it has such low km.  What if I check the VIN in carproof and found that the odometer has be tempered?

BTW, the car only has 46k km...I'd probably think it's still the stock clutch....

if not....

but it does have 4 new tires that are worn down to 70% already...previous owner probably drove it quite hard

Ops...

But C 9 ..   wont even know what the heck is "CLUTCH" wor ...   LOL  ..

May be it is a RICED camry?  some C9 son CONVERT it to Auto .. and tell people it is his RACE car??

C9 car...I don't know...maybe...but I'm not a C9 lor...LOL

I really don't know how some crazy people would do to a car....maybe they installed a racing clutch in it..who knows???  There are riced Corollas out there...so there must be riced Camry too...LOL

back to the topic pls...I'm serious...looking for an answer...

This is the first time that I heard of this...I thought the opposite is correct, that is as the clutch wears it should be slightly less stiff, unless a few pressure plate "fingers" are broken.  If a clutch is worn, then it might chatter or slip.

係會愈黎愈重

05年 9成係lease 架車返黎順手練棍
之後 return

dealership 可以show ICBC record 比你睇
如果係係e間dealership出
你可以問佢有冇平時做maintenance D record

mark 低佢VIN 上carfax/ aircare 睇下有冇d咩奇怪野
不過咁新唔駛做aircare 睇唔到d咩

as brake wears down, brake will bite at a lower point, such like if there is air in the brake fluid system ~ so it's "softer" feel too....

as clutch wears down, clutch will bite at a HIGHER point, such like if there is air in the clutch fluid system ~ so it's "heavier" feel too...

now i dunno how many have driven a manual car, gone thru a set of clutch and put back "STOCK" replacement clutch ~ it will be so light and feelingLESS; as it gets wear down it will be stiffer and stiffer...

of course, soft brake feel and stiff clutch feel could also be because of bad pad / rotors / master cylinder or pressure plate, clutch master or slave cylinders...

clutch might not slip, just like brake might not fade when it's completely done; usually it will be harder to go into gear but it might not grind (grind only states that it has bad synchro's, replacing clutch usually won't fix); shutter could be because flywheel, clutch disc / pressure plate ~ or even engine / transmission mount as the clutch bites too hard and mount is letting go of the power (this usually only happens when u have a higher performance clutch or badly worn mounts)...

i have done toyota matrix xrs with 51k and the clutch is completely gone, pretty owner bought it to learn how to drive stick and my friend got his for "cheap" (counted the clutch replacement cost into his buying cost, as it's expected)...

also RSX at 60k, bettle at 58k, WRX at 58k, etc....u just never know how the prev owner drives!

worn clutch is usually heavy, doesn't grip as good while new clutch would be so light but it bites!

it's hard to explain maybe u can buy the camry i will do ur clutch then u can experience it

Well, I also want to check if my clutch is still in good condition or not.
I haven't driven a new car with a new clutch...so I can't really tell the different.

But really, this is a first time i've heard that a Stick Camry.
