Actually it is nothing new, back in 60's we would buy
Chinese breakfast, Chinese Donut and congee with own container.
I always bring my container when I buy  Chinese roast pork, the styrofoam box
makes the pig skin  chewy. Cutting the top of styro foam box would release toxin
and a very bad practice

Unless they post up a relevant sign on a noticeable place that all customers should be able to read and know their policy, saying every single customer should bring their own bag/container and they have no liability for any damage due to inappropriate container used or they have the rights to refuse to do their business, and if any container is asked by the customer, a certain charge will be needed from variable sizes and types etc.

What's the point to upset (inch) a valuable customer, for not giving another piece of egg tart and not charging a certain fee for extra container if needed? Which there are many better and possible ways to solve the situation.

yea this is absolutely because of $$.  chinese ppl always only think about $$.  only think about how to earn more $$.  for example:  cold drink add $0.5-$1 in chinese restaurant.  the ice worth it?  lol
