根據門戶網站搜狐專題內數據，廣東地區日食貓10000只[1]，在全中國，每年被屠宰作為食物的狗多達上千萬，不少地方也存在不同程度的食用貓問題[3][ 6]。然而在世界上很多國家和國內很多人來說，貓狗是家庭成員，食用貓狗肉的風俗對於很多人而言是無法忍受的行為。韓國的狗肉館由於韓國主辦世界杯而關閉，近1年來國內民間的自發抗議“吃貓狗肉”呼聲高漲[7]，都許多人無法接受這種不良飲食風俗的直接體現。 [5]

貓和狗是人類上萬年來的朋友，是很多家庭的成員
貓狗成為人類的伴侶已經有超過1萬年的歷史。許多科學研究證明，飼養貓狗作為寵物可以減輕人們的精神壓力,有助於提高人們的身心健康水平。它們不僅給人們帶來慰籍，也在許多方面成為人類的幫手。新華網2004年報導稱：“根據資料測算，國內至少有寵物一億隻（頭），而未來５年內寵物的數量將增長５倍”[2]；越來越多貓狗也走入中國家庭，成為不可分割的重要成員。

您知道您吃的貓狗肉是怎麼來的嗎？
市面上出售的貓狗肉都是被人殘忍宰殺而來的[1][3]。根據長期以來各地動物保護機構和媒體的調查，這些貓狗多數是被非法偷盜的家養貓狗，他們曾是某個人家裡被愛的一員。
食用貓狗肉的人，就是殘忍宰殺貓狗和非法偷盜貓狗的人的同謀。

怎能將我們或者別人的朋友和家庭成員殘忍殺害放上餐盤？
食用貓狗的野蠻風俗不符合和諧社會和，也將損害中華民族的文明形象。

shouldnt just target to China, but should also target to other curel action to animals too, like Canada. Have u gone to youtube to watch how they kill the baby sea-something for their furs/skin?

also should protest to Europe about how they treat the goose for their livers?

come on, don't just target on Chinese/Asian

Hmm... then why don't you try to explain to them.  Or even show them some documentary that can be found on the web easily.  Geezz... it is sad that human are doing these...

eating shark-fin is not a crime, but overeating would break the chain
oh well, I dun eat sharkfin often, at most twice a year, cos I am not rich

I have no mercy to animial when I want to eat them
just like if you are being thrown to the sea area where there are lots of "big-white" shark, I don't think they would have mercy to us, no matter how many human is left on earth

and about dog, if it want to bite your hands off, they won't have mercy too, no matter how many time u have feeded them

Is Sharkwater DVD out yet? I will buy the DVD and show it to my family. I have stopped eating shark's fin for 2 or 3 years. My next step is to try convincing my family to not eat shark's fin.
