I hear you. I didn't know it was film when I first made the original comment on your photo. Yet, I had my good share shooting films for years ages ago as well.
In the good old days, I learn to select the type of film to shoot the type of shooting I do. Using slide with minimal latitude and high contrast for an image where the background is in shadow area, where your 2 main subject, the man and the baby also have a good level exposure diff. it just wasn't a lighting condition suitable for the film you had at the time. If this is in a wedding, it would have been a complete failure. Some type of fill flash or reflector woud be needed, unless I can made my subject move to a lower contrast area.
Yet, I knw this is no wedding, and you as a photographer is the judge of what you want.
I think it just isn't my cup of tea. Photography is an art, so I respect what you choose. So, let me apologize.
