Thomas So is the classic Hong Kong style, you pose for every photo, rather than capture the moment.  Eg, stop and pose for every person you served tea, pretend to hold the cup, pretend to give gift/red pocket then smile.  Everything is posed to get the effect.  Whereas the newer style is the photo journalism type, "capture the moment", so it depends on what you are looking for.

As for my wedding photos from Thomas So, I had my wedding in May and I have not heard from him to this date.  Still waiting for my pictures.

Thanks for the update! I was wondering too.
I personally don't like the HK style pose and shot photos. U can get those shots with helps from relatives and friends.
I am a big fan of photo journalism. photo is to capture the moment and memories.

80% of the weddings I went to had T.So as the photographer.  2 photographers for the whole day ... all other competitors got squeezed out simply due to the price.

(I do wedding photography as a side job, so I don't want to comment on his work)

He said 8-10 weeks but when I emailed him, he "fool hin" me.  I am glad I didn't pay for the full 100% yet and still has a balance to pay when I collect my photos.  My friend had to wait 1 year before she got her wedding photos and she paid her photographer 100% before the wedding.  I learned from her not to do that.

Thomas So did have 2 photographers, but that other guy is a junior and he was just standing there like a piece of lumber.  He wasn't quite sure what to do at most times.  It was mostly Thomas So who took the pictures, but again "posed" pictures.  I haven't seen my pictures yet, may be I could be impressed, so let's wait and see.

I didn't order the album, just prints will take 8-10 weeks for my photographer!

As daimo said thomas is popular due to his price "same as bailey", I think then it makes sense he gave you a lumber junior (lol I like this one) and long wait processing time for your photos. I hope he is taking the time to finely edit your pictures then it's worth to wait, good luck lizzie!

BTW I never heard of Thomas neither.....

I think 2-3 months turn around time is reasonable. The cauasian photographers I heard about (from forum) also about the same time frame.
I had Thomas as my wedding photographer before and at that time he and his wife are working together. His wife is very detail oriented. Maybe now the new guy is not as good...
