My best friend had a miscarriage. She was 9 weeks pregnant and utlrasound said the baby died at 6 weeks. She still hasn't had her miscarriage yet and the doctor said she may need an operation. She is healthy and don't know why this happened to her. She is my very good friend and I am so sad.
I am very sorry about the news, are you the one who were looking an OB for your friend a few weeks back?
Although it is very sad and unfortunate, early miscarriage is indeed quite common, esp for 1st time pregnancy. I am surprised that such an early miscarriage would need an operation, but if that is the doctor's decision, there must be a valid reason.
Her body condition is very weak after miscarraige, I'm not sure if you friend trust traditional Chinese medicine, but I would recommend her to visit one to help recovering faster. In case she lives nearby, I can recommend a very good Chinese doctor in Po-Co.
She needs your support very much at this stage, I wish her all the best.
Don't worry about it too much.
My sister-in-law miscarriage last year too but she is pregnant again now.
Expected day is in October. And yes, her body need medicine.
If you live in Richmond, I know a good Chinese doctor in Richmond too..
Yes ah, it is the same friend. She was supposed to see to her OB in Aug, having to wait so long, may be something could have been done.
Her family Dr is no good, she went to see her and told her everything in the pregnancy is normal. Then she went to a walk in clinic and complained about minor cramps, the dr there immediately referred her to an urgent ultrasound and blood tests to find out why. The walk in clinic doctor was suspecting ectopic (tubal) pregnancy, but in the ultrasound, they found out that the baby stopped growing at 6 weeks, even though she should be 10 weeks pregnant. The baby has no heart beat.
Wow, if she didn't go to the walk in clinic, her family doctor would have asked her to keep waiting as she felt that she is too early to do ultrasound. Her family doctor is awful. My friend asked her family doctor to write her a doctor note to take a few days off while this is being sorted out, the doctor said "work won't make a difference, you should continue to go to work. Not going to the work will not save your baby." My friend was afraid that she has a miscarriage at work. She is now waiting still to see if the miscarriage happens naturally, but nothing has happened this weekend yet. She will go see doctor again today. Doctor may order an operation once she sees her today.
often tubal pregnancy would need to go through surgery.... but ur frd's doctor had made a mistake, even tho 6 weeks for ultrasound maybe too early, but then she could hv check if the pregnancy is tubal or not already.
it's unfortunate that one out of four women will have miscarriage, but tell your frd don't give up. it is important to heal the body first, take chinese medication and eat properly. your friend can have healthy baby in the future.
