went there this past weekend and it was typical western style Chinese food. People go there for crab legs mostly. Nothing outstanding about the food. They have about 20+ types of food.
All the dishes are either too salty or no taste at all. The soup was too salty. We did not eat crabs. I remembered I went there many years ago and they had beijing duck. I guessed they took it out. My favorite of the day would the ice cream. The only one that was bearable.
They even added one dollar for the Chinese tea... The waiter specifically told us that there is no water.
saw this somewhere:
The Lakeside Café is open seven days per week for breakfast and lunch. Dinner is available Sunday through Thursday on a seasonal basis. Friday night Italian Buffet and Saturday night Prime Rib Buffet are available year round.
I think you better call to confirm if it's really Prime Rib Buffet on the day you want to go.
most of the good buffet in hk is operated by the big hotel.
and no doubt the food prize in hk is way cheaper and fresher, and hk has the high volume, that could cover the rent.
In here, the labour is higher, the food prize is higher, and we got low volume, which couldn't cover the cost.
You claimed that running a good buffet here is very expensive because the ingredients need to buy transported here. But in Hong Kong, they still need to import the food and the rent is even more expensive. And yet they still have good buffets in HK.
