Zue's Double Red Cabbage

I've searched around and found this recipe. I've made some alternations here and there...

Ingredients
    * 1 small head red cabbage, shredded, about 2.5 to 3 lbs
    * unsalted butter
    * Salt and pepper
    * 1 small onion, sliced
    * 1/2 cup red wine vinegar
    * 1 pink lady or any non-starchy apple, peeled, chopped
    * 1 cup water
    * 1 tablespoon brown sugar
    * Red seedless raisins (1 handful)

Directions

Melt butter in heavy pot over medium heat. Add onion and cook for 3 minutes. Add apple and cook for 2 minutes. Add in cabbage and stir to coat. (Season and add vinegar, water and brown sugar) I've premixed this. Bring to a simmer and cover. Reduce heat to medium, add raisins and cook for 30 mins or until cabbage is tender. Add more water if necessary. Serve hot

Never said it's lazy, however, it's still relatively easy and I just leave the stove to cook on its own without having to watch over it.

Yes, it's a German dish. What's the name of it in German?

Blaukraut or Rotkraut if memory serves me correctly; I still cook it
for the Bavarian Night or Oktoberfest event. German would cook it in sausage drippings or goose fat and ham hock

I used to work at a German restaurant name Heidelberg on Robson Street many years ago,
they would go through 60-80 Litres of Braised Red Cabbage daily, along with 30+ varieties of
German sausages and 15 different kinds of Schnitzels; their portion size is huge.
