YSL Easy French Kit

Yesterday lunch time, i saw this YSL French Manicure kit. I heard about it a while ago, and it's out already! $52 + tax for the 2 pens...so i got it! I haven't tried it yet (because i just put on the new Chanel spring color on monday). it looks easy enough to do a nice French manicure DIY at home!

Description:
At last a French manicure becomes accessible to every woman. This clever duo of portable pens is particularly easy to use: a pen with a lead to draw a white line along tips of the nail and a pen-brush to highlight the nails with a subtle veil of pastel pink colour. Your nails are instantly well manicured, smooth and glossy.

I got it today. The white pen is hard to control in the beginning, but start getting better when I got to the last finger.  Just some time if I missed a line/ spot, I tried to add the white in, then it can really tell it has 2 layers.  (still trying to figure how to do a better job)

Hoever, I find the pink one hard to control. The pink seems not enough, kinda showing lines. I tried giving extra pump with each finger, but it didn’t help. The lines are still showing.

May be I am not doing it right, can you give me some tips.

oic...
i will go to BB counter next time & check it out sin

the O-Glow is in a tube...but the gel is CLEAR!!!!!!! i put like a 1/4 pea size on each my sister's cheeks...cus i didn't know how much & how much color will show. at first, it got really red! but then, it tones down itself to the right amount of color. i don't think you can really "over apply" it... as long as you blend it out. & it's very easy to blend. it feels like a water-based gel ga~~~

well when i got it it didnt come with a brush..~ i think it's 20 sthg for the liner and 20 sthg for the brush? im just guessing.. cuz i got them like 4 yrs ago... but the set i was talking about, you get 3 pots and a mini brush (the head is the same size as the reg. size, it's just that the handle's shorter) for $30 sthg. it's a great deal~~!

i've only gotten more used to gel type blushes this past year... i normally just use powder ones since it's so much easier! i have a few other cream-based ones from lancome but they dun blend very well... the color just stays on my fingers @@~
oglow comes in a tube right??? it looks like it's liquid-y enough to be blended easily~

cin:
really?! that is like wonder then! so the BB gel liner doesn't come with the brush ga? how much is a pot of BB gel line? you are really tempting me! it's so hard to find a liner that doesnt smudges! like i have a section of cream liner in my Maquillage, Majorica eyeshadow compact.... it looks nice, but it smudges lor! so i can't really use it....

oic... i have like 7 different blushes   ranging from powder (Dior), cream (RMK), 1/2 cream/powder texture (Ipsa), to liquid (Amarni)
yah...that O-Glow is so good lor! i wonder how it will look on top of foundation neh... cus today i have blush on, so no point to try it on me mah~ but it looks awsome on my sister's cheeks!

i like BB's gel eyeliner more over mac's!
mac's is quite good too.. but the texture is softer.. and i find that it smudges easier~
BB's is pretty much waterproof.
i have single eyelids... and 1 of them'll always make a regular eyeliner smudge~ but not with BB's gel eyeliner!!~ i clsoe my eyes for like 20 secs to let it dry before i open my eyes~ it's great really! =p
i think you should get the brush too

i've never tried the o-glow from smashbox... but i love gel-type blush too =p
i have dry skin so it works better for me..~
i have a few from tarte, and 1 from shu..~ i also like how it feels cool when you put it on

BB gel line is good? ok... i'll get it NEXT time   working in downtown right next to pacific centre is so DEADLYYYYY!!!! is it waterproof? or does it stick to your eye-lid? cus my left eye crease is so weird ga...if i use pencil liner, after a few blinks, it will have some color stick to my eye lid so i need to use waterproof pencil liner (like Shu Uemura), or liquid eye liner sin work ga lor~ so can anyone let me know if the BB gel liner will stick?

Lavshuca:
it's not limited edition... but it's just cool that i HAD to get it ja ma!! hahaha... i have like over 50+ nail polishes but it's never enough...

its_visa:
the white pen is like a round-pointed marker tip. i find it kinda hard to get the side of the nails without smudging it on your fingertips...cus it's kinda fat, & you nails kinda curve in on the side...if you know what i mean. but it's definitely much much easier then doing the same thing with regular white nail polish brush lor~

you know what girls? today i went shopping with my mom... @ metro. we walked into Shoppers to play with makeup. we tried that Smashbox  O-Glow (gel blush), & it works like magic! i tested it on my sister, because she has no makeup on (other than eyeline), and the clear gel made her cheeks look natural pink!!! so AWSOME!!!! it looks like she's 面色好好,好健康咁囉! i want to get that too now!

BB gel eyeliner is a must buy!!! i have 4 colors! but one of them dried up on me cuz i forgot to put the lid back on a few times ><
if you go to the states you can get a set of them at the cosmetics company store (at the outlet) for a much cheaper price! they dun always have it but i've seen it there on and off at many diff. times already~~

its_visa: yes you just draw the pen on your nails. But it's hard to draw using left hand

Lashuca: I don't think they are sold out. The SA told me this is not a limited edition product. THey will continue to have it.

Alc: Amber sounds nice. I think for beginners like myself we have enough pinky shimmery makeup already. It's time for something different.

Yeah hope someone who has the BB shimmer brick can give some comments. I am interested in BB because if you buy it in-flight duty free, it will come with a brush as an extra for free. Bobbi Brown brush wor! But I think only pink color is available.

i just used the Amber Dior Shimmer Block
amber one is very subtle, not enough to use as blush itself (the pink one is ok as blush).... but it gives a nice earthtone glow. i dabbed a little orange blush, & then the Dior Shimmer Block over it.... looks very natural, & tones down the blush color to look as if it's your own cheeks blushing.

i would recommend it!!!
although i haven't tried the BB shimmer brick, can anyone compare it to my description of the Dior blocks? thanks!
