ya long time no see. There is one Ikea in Seattle and one in Portland. I found the one in Portland is better than Ikea. Some stuff (even when it's not on sale) can go as low as 50% of the price in Vancouver.
I am planning to go to Portland on Canada Day. Does anybody know how long the lineup usually is?

I'm going to Portland as well on Canada day via a bus tour, the travel agent said the line up will most likely be like other long weekend....some people will take Friday off too to make it a long weekend.
Also many people might go shopping in Washington state as there will be no sales tax starting July 1st
I am going to Orgeon too. Only been there once by tour many years ago.
Planning to vists:
Portland: malls/outlets, weekend market.
other: Mt Hood/Columbia Gorge (Vista House, Multnomah Fall), canon beach.
I am planning to stay in hotel in the town close by but not in Portland city as Portland is just one of our stops, and save a bit in hotel away from city center (we just need clean and safe place to rest overnight), but not sure if it is far away from point to point.
Btw, any good sushi places in Portland or the coast to recommend?
Shopping:
woodburn outlet
washington square (like metrotown)
Pioneer place (downtown if u want LV, Tiffany etc.)
bridgeport village
Costco/Target/Walmart
Food:
I'm not too picky on food so I just eat in Cheesecake factory (washington square), Todai (pioneer place), or California Pizza Kitchen (bridgeport village)
If you stay longer time, I recommend Oregon coast.
I stayed in Starfish manor, and Cannery Pier hotel before, both are great.
Sightseeing: canon beach, aquarium, sealion cave, Tillamook cheese
