《人民日報》品蘋果：論價格，“蘋果”的東西並不算便宜，有的甚至還比較貴，不便之處也不少。比如，不能裝盜版軟件，下載音樂、電影要付費，等等。但是，當這些新鮮玩意兒成為一種時髦，就超出了“有用或無用”和價廉物美的局限，消費者會情不自禁地掏出錢包。

重點唔係可唔可以裝，而係作為官方喉舌報嘅人民日報竟然可以堂而皇之咁話 download 唔到盜版電影、音樂，安裝唔到盜版軟件就係一件電子產品嘅弱點！

所以我成日都話，天朝大國勃起，真係文明之極！

Of course I am not saying that people in the US (and the rest of the world) are not using bootlegged and privated copies of stuff. But with People's Daily being an official government / party news channel, the incident just goes to show how "civilized" people in the Party are.

Not that this is related, but I recall Canada was rank at least the "TOP 3" Pirated software made/distribute country in the world in recent years.

I would be very surprised by that piece of news, Chobit, because for a few years, work required me to constantly keep an eye on the levels of computer software privacy in the world. Between the late 90's to around 2005 at least (when I have been looking into those software piracy numbers), the US is almost always the no. 1 country that has the lowest rate of software piracy. A bunch of European countries are next, and Canada typically ranks somewhere in the teens.

Worst on the list are countries like Vietnam, and of course, our Great China, with 90%+ of the software being pirated.
