Actually goose Foie Fras is much superior in term of flavour,
however, I gave up eating it for 10 years, pityful for old guy.
To all of you: enjoy it when you are still young. Happy Valentine Day
The 2 butcher shops at Granville Island,
Amando and Tenderland. They sell duck Foie Gras
from Quebec. Taste quite acceptable. It is preferable
for amateur because they have the blood vein removed.
Cost about $90 for 750 grams piece. they may have some
pre-sliced in vacuum pak that costs a little more.
Goose foie gras from France cost about $300 but you
have to do the trimming and it is too big for say
Vanlentine dinner.
BTW, the duck foie gras at Meinhardt and Urban Fare are
frozen, and they are way more expensive (for the same product).
For larger quantity, Mark Hill's carry all types of game meat
and birds.
I used to love Foie Gras a lot! But I don't feel too good to keep eating it for the cruel production behind, now I only eat Ankimo (monkfish liver) instead!
