I tried, kinda disappointed. Since it is from Japan and all the customer are Japanese when I went so I had a very high expectation. we tried the Yatai, Miso and Shio Ramen. all the noodles are pretty good but the broth are disappointing. The Yatai and Shio taste basically the same from a clear broth which is not really tasty. the main different I can tell is the Shio comes with more side vegetable and Yatai only comes with a Kubu. The Miso ramen taste better, the miso broth is rich so I guess Miso is the only one I will order if I will ever going back.
Overall Santouka still get my vote as the best Ramen place in Vancouver. Sanpachi probably second (just because of their miso ramen) over Benkei and Kintaro (I used to like Kintaro a lot but when I go last time like a year ago the ramen they serve me is not hot enough so I never go back). |
