居民抗議UBC建善終醫院 子女

憂屋價跌 怕影響子女健康

卑詩大學（UBC）擬在校園興建善終醫院（St. John Hospice）。該院地點接近住宅區，引起一些居民不滿，說憂慮屋價下跌、入住末期病患或影響及年幼子女健康。有華裔住戶周二專程到《星島日報》投訴校方此議；而參加周二諮詢會議者，逾九成是華裔。UBC回應指善終醫院不會影響屋價，稱將與住戶充分溝通。

剛搬入同一幢柏文的移民張揚表示，她兩個月前以130萬購入一單位；如果善終醫院就建在旁邊，肯定令屋價大跌。她說，部分買家本周得悉擬興建善終醫院消息，已經要求地產經紀取消購屋合約。

張揚又表示，她的小孩才10歲，已經談死色變，得知住家旁邊未來或天天有人會死，嚇得睡不著覺，飯也吃不下：「這絕對與中國人的風俗文化相違背。」

人老病死,人生必經,"善終"是令生命完結得更完滿!

and if the gov only does things that are the most cost effective, it's not a gov anymore

Go back to discussions about why rangefinders are better then DSLR.

It's sad but at least that's an honest claim!!
The reason why this attracted so much media reports and discussion is because of ALL the other EXCUSES they brought up to cover their fear of lossing $$$.
If they just protect about fear on drop of property value, I won't have anything to say against them.

Since they are living in a high rise/ condo
Do they allow anybody die in their building?
Kick them out before they die so there will not be any ghost/haunted in their building
