BB唔肯飲水, 點算好呀

It's me again...my baby doesn't like to drink water...he actually refuses it....Is there any way to force him to drink?

i personally dont know much about baby
but there are too much studies on everyfood everything
Average parents are lost about what to get for their babies
and fear from the known and scare from the unk ...

yes, we are all "fine" nowadays...we all survived without DHA, without knowing what Omega 3 and 6 are...

but now that we have the knowledge, why not use it to our benefit? Health discoveries have made parenting much easier and much safer for our babies. That is why the mortality rate for babies have lowered significantly since we've learned what's good and what's bad for our babies. We were the lucky ones who survived but what about those that didn't? Or suffered consequences?

Also..how much exercise can a baby get? :p
until they start crawling/walking/running around..they're pretty much just sitting/lying there waiting to be fed. That is why nutrition is very important for babies.

You might want to read this : http://www.guttmacher.org/pubs/ib_2-02.html
Summary : infant mortality rates in developing countries are 61 per 1000. Developed counties (like us), the mortality rate is 8 in 1000. This is because developed counties now have better knowledge and access to products/services/medical that can help prevent harming our children.

We grew up in an era that there are not much information about food and quality of living
and we are perfectly fine now. So I think balanced-food-and-execise life is better than getting the right food for them

Again, I am no parent so I dont know how concern parent is toward food.

My prenatal class nurse, community nurse, & my pediatrician all said no water for baby.  Feed baby water was the old way, but recent medical study shows that early infant does not need water because there is enough water in either breast milk or formula.  No water until baby eat solid food.

well...when we were young, we drank water, ate congee, ate fish, ate rice at a VERY young age

nowadays, we are told by doctors that we shouldn't introduce water, rice, fish at such a young age because studies/experience have shown the bad sides of these things..

water = baby refuse to drink nutritious milk. water has no nutritional value but fills tummy
fish = dangerous mercury levels
rice = no fiber at all, no added iron.

since the first year of baby's life is very important for their brain development, nowadays doctors want us to focus on foods/cereals/formula that have added iron, added calcium, DHA, Omega 3 and 6..etc..to help the baby's brain develop better

----

on another note, i've seen people feeding their babies (5 or 6 months old) tea, dim sum, chinese food..etc. those babies are very fat but they also refuse to drink milk because they've tasted "real" food
