This morning I found my car has big scratches around my car, on every door and fuel door...horrible!  newer cars around me got the same thing, even cars on streets a couple blocks from my home have them..feel sorry for those Mercedes, BMWs, etc...apparently, the older cars are all fine...

I live in Van but close to Burnaby...I guess this is probably related to the 400 cars keyed at Silvercity Coquitlam...was there no security at Silvercity?  It takes quite awhile to scratch 400 cars...

What a waste of time and money...  once again it shows how weak the policing is in our city...

【明報專訊】溫市昨日凌晨又發生逾100部停泊街上的汽車被人刮花事件，探員接報趕至目擊「刮車狂徒」犯案，派出警犬追捕下，咬傷疑犯，拘捕一名過去曾犯同類案件的韓裔男子，當場起出數條鎖匙，警方暫控疑犯2項罪名。警方稱近月來在高貴林、本那比及溫市發生合共約1000宗刮車事件，單是溫市的400宗刮車案，已做成約25萬至100萬元的損失。

被捕韓裔男子Soo Yo Kim，31歲。據資料顯示，他在2005年曾涉及40項破壞汽車罪名，且被判罪名成立。

對於有消息指疑犯以往曾因為投訴問題，與卑詩保險公司有爭議，至於案件是否針對卑詩保險公司的行為，警方未有直接回應，只稱疑犯與卑保之間出現一些問題。警方同時相信疑犯是單獨行事，並形容疑犯行為損人不利己。

疑犯目前被警方控以兩項涉及5000元財物以下行為不檢的罪名，但警方表示不排除日後會對每一部汽車被刑事毀壞，各控以一項罪名，而近期三市的刮車案合共多達1000宗，若全部有證據提出檢控，控罪數目可能十分驚人。疑犯昨日不准保釋，被還押看管。

溫市警方發言人范寧(Tim Fanning)表示，一名居民昨日凌晨3時35分致電報警，指一名男子在東6街(E.6th Ave.)2600號路段附近徘徊，形可疑。警方接報到場調查，派出便衣探員在場埋伏。

探員其後目擊一名男子刮花最少2部停泊路邊的車輛後，即時現身欲拘捕該男子，該男子拔足逃走。探員追截兩個路段，至東4街附近，在警犬協助下拘捕一名疑犯。疑犯雖被警犬咬傷，但傷勢輕微。

警方在疑犯身上撿獲多條鎖匙，經過深入調查後，發現案發現場由北至南的東1街(E.1st Ave.)至百老匯東街(E.Broadway)，以及由西至東的納奈莫街(Nanaimo St.)至倫弗魯街( Renfrew St.)，當中包括東6街(E.6th Ave.)2600號路段在內，共多達100部汽車被刮花，單是溫市的刮車事件，已做成財物損失25萬至100萬元左右。

對於早前高貴林及本那比亦曾多次發生刮車案，約有600部車被刮花。范寧稱，已透過電腦系統與其他警區分享資料，以了解疑犯與上述案件是否有關連。他亦承認警方在拘捕疑犯前，已鎖定疑犯為其中一個主要調查目標。

被問及其中一輛汽車更被刮上Anti-Proverty Committee的英文縮寫APC，以及一名反貧窮委員成員英文姓名縮寫TM等，案件是否與反貧人士有關？范寧表示不清楚，並有待警方深入調查。

溫市昨日發現被刮花的汽車，不少兩邊車身均被刮成「一字長蛇」，使車身及車門留下「疤痕」，不少被刮花汽車的車主都是華裔，車主對汽車被刮花除感到心痛外，只歎無奈。

Oh... I didn't pick that up.  I thought it happened at night...

crap... 4-6pm, it is not even dark and no one pick that up when someone goes around and key hundred cars?

Very unlikely as I hide my car in the garage at night.  I drive another old car at night too... so...

Craftsman any good?  I might go there...

Oh, btw, I just got my car back from Richmond Auto Body.  The work is good.  The service is great.  Very organized compared to other body shops I have visited.
