I've also seen 周潔瑩女中醫 before. Make sure you phone before you go. She is not there everyday.

to OP:

are you a gal? If so, consider Guangzhou clinic on Victoria and 50th , her name is Chow Kit Ying (translation) and she's specialising in female issues. She has help in stabilising my wife's pregnancy complications (and we ended up having our 2nd child born in good condition) all thanks to her.

If your headache is related to your period (assuming you are a gal), definitely check her out.

Dunno her phone though..

Western doctors have migraine specific medication that can help relieve pain as well as prevent them. However, they are not 100% effective.

TCM doctors can treat migraines via acupuncture (for temporary relief), TCM, or 食療. Again, acupuncture works great for some, but not so well for others. 天麻 is quite effective for migraine pain relief, but again, it doesn't work for everyone, and it is best if you consult a TCM doctor before using it medically or in 食療.

Generally, what western doctors recommend (aside from medication) is to look for migraine triggers as a means of migraine management. A lot of times, the migraine happens as a result of something you are exposed to, you did, you ate, or you felt. Common triggers include (prolonged?) exposure to heat, cold, over-exerting yourself, eating certain food, being under stress, not getting enough sleep / sleeping too much etc. If you adopt this aproach of migraine management, you need to be prudent to track everything you've done prior to your migraine attack, and over time look at your records to take note of any patterns. A coworker of mine, for example, noticed that among other things, she gets migraines after eating this combination of beef and beans, but not when she only eats beef and when she only eats those beans.
