to donate or not to donate? donate, not

we were having lunch today
first thing u see is.. lots of ppl standing by the door with lots of donation boxes
then later when we were eating
they came over to our table.. wanting us to make donations
even after we said "we already donated"
the lady made us sound as if we are all evil creatures by not putting money in her box

yes.. i know the lady was trying to help
but donations can be made in many different ways
why forcing us to donate to her?
and bother people when they are eating?

睇完以上意見，似乎出來勸捐的都overwhelm左，而且大小組織都爭住出來做艇仔(拆家)，搏命叫人交錢俾佢地，然後又話大家知，佢地都係轉手交俾其他大規模慈善機構，好似大家去報名參加鴨仔旅行團一樣，其實呼籲大家捐去大慈善機構就ok啦，駛乜全世界都赤膊上陣，一齊去爭同一個市場？ 餐廳俾人入去煩人，更加唔對路，要捐就就自然會捐，唔駛好似做show咁，計好晒數先至做，世事邊有算得咁盡？可能都係沽名釣譽為多。

how about mingpao?係唔係lancer所講個Ｄ將大家Ｄ善款collect左之後轉交比Ｄ機構，自己用來扣稅架？因為明報個網冇話有退稅收條喎！

if you guys want to donate, you guys can donate to 慈濟.

慈濟 is a very low profile organization and 100% of the fund are directly to the victims. Yes, there are few staff within 慈濟 is not volunteer  but the salary are from the members of 慈濟.

Members of 慈濟 will pay 120 dollars annually for administration in the organization. They also have to purchase their own uniform.

I highly respect 慈濟 members as they are very polite and not forcing people to donate at all.

I was volunteer at Brentwood mall this long weekend for 慈濟.  They even ask me not to smile at others, unless people smile at us or donate money in my donation box because they don't want to give pressure to people.

So many charities collecting money right now. My company raises for Children Hospital, Breast Cancer Society and United Way. So many activities going on to raise money, so annoying that they keep on asking for money. It feels like every week, someone comes by and ask for money, especially on pay day. >< Having to say no everytime is hard and I feel sorry for the same ppl who volunteered to collect the money.

Nowadays, why would anyone want to give out money on the street. I've already donated at the Canadian Redcross website, really easy, just a few clicks and input some info and you're done. You can also choose other disasters like Myanmar Typhoon.

I think the manager at the restaurant made a bad mistake letting people bother customers.

I went to Aberdeen centre on sunday and its a zoo. there were 2 charity going at the same time at diferent location of the mall. One of em was Tzu Chi, low key and very polite. The other one I'm not sure what organization they belong to. they have 5 tables linked together with over 30 people. A set of big speakers and microphones. The management found them too loud and asked them to stop using them. They ignored that and started singing, later dancing. The emcee shouting "1 dollar! Just 1 dollar please! makes a big difference." Needless to say they attracted a crowd and its near the escalator as well so the traffic was backed up. The security guards had a hard time convincing them to play by the rules.

my mom says whenever there's donation. ppl like dr. stanley ho, tsang hin tze will disappear unless it's on tv.
