Isn't most of the resentment toward IE are only perpetuated by web developers?

As long as the user are uneducated about the danger of virus and scams, it would not matter which browser are used. Furthermore, both IE and FF's interface  have been become more and more alike, so what is difference?

I do wonder thou, PKP, as a techie (sort of), why would prefer. IE7?
