do anyone know how important a reference check is ? even for some basic entry level type of job..
i am going to have a few interviews recently, and they told me to bring them references, but one of them i didn't have contact for half a year and the other one may not like to receive so many calls/emails asking for references.
Is it possible that the company will still hire you even if they couldn't contact a reference, or if they have a bad reference about you ?
yup
last time they ask me to give 3 references and they check all 3.
they email them a "water sneak spring" length questionnaire about my performance and work ethic.
For those who ask for references, it's very likely they'll really call and do the check. Say if I'll be using someone as my reference, I usually give them a call to let them know if that's okay.
i think it's possible that a company will still hire you even if you can't find your reference person. But I don't think they'll hire you if they only hear bad things about you when doing the reference check.
