Chinese people only eat food made from fresh ingredients. A Chinese sushi chef is even better than a Japanese chef.

would like to know the manager is chinese or not? 'cuz he never speak chinese to us everytime I go there for lunch..

we always order dinner menu at lunch.. they got alot of special kind of dishes..

oh yeah.. the one u talking about.. thier menu is cheaper than ebisu ar.. not expensive.. for west side of vancouver area..

I know Ebisu on Robson is Chinese owned and they hired Japanese chefs and waitresses.

Like you said, maybe there is more than one chef. However, I also heard the chef speaking Japanese with the waitresses and say thx to me when I was leaving. Maybe he studied in Japan for a while? Who knows! Maybe he is actually Japanese, but went to China/Hong Kong to study and learn Cantonese.

Most importantly, one thing we agreed on is the food are just okay/average.

I heard the chef thanking the customers in Japanese when they were leaving. They may have more than one chefs. But you know, if it is Chinese owned, they don't normally hire Japanese waitreses. The chef and waitresses talked in Japanese.

I went there recently, but the chef and waitresses were Japanese. I don't know why you think they are Chinese.
This place is just average for a Japanese owned sushi place.
