Handcarry is the best way to go for sure. However, that will be a lot of carrying and there is a size limit.
If you hate handcarrying thing like me, you can pack thing with original packing and put it inside your luggage. if you don't have original packing, wrap it in layers of bubble sheet, surround it with clothes.
The cargo handler ususally juggle the light and small luggage. It is unlikely they will juggle a 50 pound luggage. I packed a lot of electronic equipment this way over the years, it never fail me.
