Pinhole camera in my room?! Pinhole, camera, room

i am suspecting that there is a needle camera installed in my room that i am renting.

My landlord is a guy and there are 2 other female tenants renting the others rooms. So totally 3 girls in a house with the landlord.

this house is a little bit weird with so many security camera (3 of them) outside the house and the landlord has a weird personality, like a 宅男。

Us 3 girls are kinda worrying. we found a strange white plastic box near the stair. we suspect that it could be a spy camera inside that box because the angle can the whole stair case. we assume the purpose is to monitor who has been going up the stair.

we are starting to worry, but we don't have proof yet.

I did some research and there is a simple way to find out. Look for reflection while switching the room light on & off, but i am afraid of the dark!  

PLEASE HELP~~

This happens everywhere (probably with the exception of third world countries...)

Even hotels do that.  Not the owners, but electricians or worker put pinholes in the washroom (or wherever possible they can make money and it is not obvious)... they do that to make money (people watch it online).  I remember a fews years ago, it was on the show "Maury Show".  The guests from the show talked about horror story of how their privacy was invaded by landlords.  What creeped me out was the part that they caught the worker at this hotel.. he put pinhole in the shower (litterally the shower head) and so ppl that subscribed to it were watching guests at the hotel taking a shower!  So watching that part made me get kind of paranoid TT___TT.

It is grosse and unethical.. it is sick.  And especially those that do that intentionally to make money, that is so inhumane!

So, if you think you feel that your landlord has stuff (washroom, room), don't take a second guess.  Follow your gut and start finding out whats going on!  It is understandable that he has a camera outside your house.  It is for his safety and yours knowing his house is safe.  Your landlord would/should be straight up and tell you he has cameras (duh, as he is renting out).  It shouldn't be a problem haveing a camera outside the place.. unless you're stripping and dealing drugs outside the place?  It's the same concept as the mall with cameras.  And the staircase, like you said he wants to know whether you people may be sneeking people here and there? (cuz he's cheap as hell knowing that if you bring a friend, it will cost an extra penny if they use the toilet and drink a cup of water? LOL)

The main concern is the washroom and your rooms.  So go move your furniture and see if you see any holes, etc.  If you really don't know what you're doing.. probably seek a professional that knows how to deal with finding hidden cameras, etc.  Like other people mentioned, go to a spystore, they probably know people that can recommend you a specialist, etc.

See if u can go into your roommate's room and see if there are anything unusual but similar in your room.

i searched my room thoroughly and seemed like there is no suspicious wiring in my room. maybe i am being sensitive.

i dun know about the other girls and i have told them to do a scan. hopefully nothing weird come up for them too.

if u go too google image and look for some pin hole spy cameras.. you will see most of the cameras requires battery. For wireless cameras, it requires more power to transmit the signal and the size of the transmitter is going to be a concern for him too.  I doubt it's gonna be a wireless pin hole camera... unless he's going to take a risk to snake in your room to change the battery all da time and not afraid of being caught.  ... for wired camera, you can just look for the video cable ... normally .. just regular RCA , S-video or BNC cables. These cables are not very easy to hide as they are not too thin. Usually comes in the color of black / gray. You can try to find a cable along the side of the walls to see if anything weird is coming from the wall. Keep in mind, even the wired cameras require battery or ac power to run. The size of the camera it selves might be small but the battery and transmitter behind the camera might not be too difficult to spot. Especially, they are in your room and you have lots of time to find it. ( I bet u are just thinking too much....... )
