Had dinner at Kingsway sushi. Bought membership there, was given a receipt, told to pick up at Crystal mall Top Gun hotpot couple weeks later.
Went for dinner at their hotpot. They asked me if I had membership card. I told them I've applied and I am also here to pick up as well have dinner. During the food, they came back saying they can't find the card. They asked me for name, number and will locate. But still nothing found. I didn't make a big deal coz it was my fault in forgetting the receipt of which the prove that I paid for the membership. I was told to bring back that receipt within 7 days and they will refund back the 10% disc on the meal.
7 days went past, I can't find the receipt so wasn't gonna go back to get a refund. Went there for dinner again recently. This time with the receipt. And they still can't find it! We were told there's nothing they can't do since their office is closed. The girl said I could bring back the receipt in 14 days to claim for refund of 10% discount. ...ur...I thought it's 7 days wor!
Since this time they saw my receipt but still didn't find the membership card. I have doubts so asked them what's gonna happen to my card and the missed points and discounts. The girl rolled her eyes at me and said: "I wasn't there to talk to you that day, so how should I know wor? I only work here part time jar!" Her attitude got me angry. I said: "It's not my responsibility to find out what your position is. All I know is you work here and represent your company so I ask you lor!". The manager came and told us to wait for their call then come pick it up again.
We went inside for dinner. Throughout the dinner, the waiters kept looking at us in not so friendly glare. We ordered 5 portions of the fish skin. Each portion has 2 pieces. Only 1 portion came. We politely advised a waiter and he inched us back: "that's 10 pieces ga wor! Are you sure you can finish them?" instead of saying sorry. We replied yes, then shortly after, he came out with a big plate with at least 25 pieces!
The funny thing was while the glares and attitude of some lang jai, lang mui waiters tells me it has something to do with the dispute we had with the lang mui at the front desk earlier, there were 2 c 9 waitresses that seems to be overly friendly when serving our table compare with other tables! LOL!
A few days later, my husband went to pick it up. They explained that they couldn't find the card because our phone # was entered wrong in the database. My husband questioned since this isn't our fault, we should be entitled to the discounts and points we missed out on. The staff said: "your fault is not writing your phone number clearly!" My husband asked for the copy of form they said they don't have it. So it's whatever they say la! Then she said that's what the office told her the reason they didn't process it. So she can't do anything about it!
I highly doubt that we wrote not clearly. If their data base is so restricted that only way to search is by phone number, then it's not a customer's problem. But I think that's an excuse because the manager had asked me my exact spelling of name and the way it's written.
Regardless, even if we did write it not very clearly, I still came back with my receipt the next time. If they can't give me the discount I was entitled to, then does it mean I can get a partial refund of my membership? |
