They actually called it Cinnamon"Record" , it is very brittle caramelized puff pastry, not difficult to make, but yes, very sweet

That's the same bakery in Granville Island. I like their NY and one called apple crumble cheesecake. (warning.. pretty sweet for those who likes non-sweet Asian style dessert)

They look ordinary to me if you have seen pastries in Japan. However, don't know how good their tastes are.

The Japanese just copied dessert making, first from the Chinese, then from the French.

i was tempted to try out their desserts at whole foods. i particularly like to try new york style cheesecakes at different places. but it's $8.99 a piece which is expensive. i didn't buy any. however i was more impressed with their cooked-food sections. they look yummy. about $2.19/100g

I would suggest to go to Kreations on Cambie /15th or 14th....it's fairly close to Whole Foods
Whole foods's dessert is just so so la.. The pies are good though.

By the way, Whole Foods = Capers

Not exactly, the Whole Foods bought the Capers, but the Capers do not carry
all the Whole Foods products.

Personally i don't like Kreations, i think the pastries are overpriced and not that great either...
